Our Founder
With over 15 years of experience in media, government and strategy consulting, Valeriya Melnichuk advises governments, businesses, mission-driven organisations and individuals across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Her work focuses on helping leaders navigate high-stakes environments, where strategic decisions are shaped by institutional dynamics, political pressure and human behaviour as much as by technical analysis.
Before founding VM Global Advisory, Valeriya held senior roles in strategy, policy, behavioural change and influence. She has supported leaders through national reforms, debt restructurings, organisational transformations, regulatory challenges, public trust issues and complex multi-stakeholder environments. Her experience includes advising heads of state, finance ministries and government reform teams, as well as guiding companies and founders through periods of growth, uncertainty and strategic transition.
Earlier in her career, she led communications for the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance during a period of intensive reform, worked as a journalist with the BBC, and collaborated with international development institutions on reform and governance initiatives in Central Asia.
She holds an MPhil in Developments Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Political Science and International Public Law from Bard College and the American University of Central Asia.
