A government entering difficult debt restructuring talks needed to strengthen its position, both with creditors and with the wider network of political and institutional relationships that would shape the outcome.

We supported the government through the restructuring process, drawing on political, expert and communications support to strengthen its position. This included briefing opinion leaders and experts, engaging political and bilateral counterparts, and running a communications programme throughout the process.

The government entered the restructuring from a stronger position and concluded the process on favourable terms.
